DESCRIPTION OF EVENTS
2011-2012
Flashlight Night
Bring your flashlight, batteries, and we’ll play games in the dark. (25 points for bringing a flashlight)
Obstacle Night
You will learn that obstacles can be fun. These obstacles will be in game time and class time. We will learn
that, in life, God will help us through many obstacles.
Bonfire Night
We will have a bonfire outdoors (weather permitting). We’ll roast marshmallows and have a story under the
stars (bring a jacket).
I Love Jesus because…
Write a short note on why you love Jesus and turn it in to your leader on this evening and receive 25 points.
Your note might be chosen to be included in Awana Sunday.
Crazy Hat Night
This is a fun night for all. Wear a crazy hat or one that you have decorated with fun items of your choice. (25
points)
Military Heroes Night
In honor of our military, we will be writing to men and women that are serving in the war in the Middle East.
Also, we will have a military Wall of Honor where you can write the names or bring pictures of any family
members or friends that have or are serving in the Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines, Air Force and Reserves.
If you get a response to your letter, you can write the name of your soldier on our wall. (25 points for each
letter written)
Canned Food Night
Bring a canned food item to be donated to our Food Pantry to help those in need. 5 points for each can with
maximum of 25 points awarded.
Friend Night
This is a special night to bring a friend. You and your friend get to pick out a special gift. You will receive
double points for bringing a visitor. (200 points!!!)
Pajama/Slipper Night
Wear slippers and/or modest pjs for 25 points.
Christmas Cookie Night
Tonight each child will decorate a Christmas sugar cookie.
Stuffed Animal Night
Bring a stuffed animal. (25 points)
Thgin sdrawkcab (Backwards Night)
Can you walk backwards, talk backwards, wear your clothes backwards and play games backwards? Well, this
is a night you’ll love. (“See you there” or would I say, “There you see?”)
Favorite Sports Team Night
Do you love the Tigers or the Lions? How about the Bears or the Packers? Are you a Michigan or a State fan?
Wear the clothes of your favorite team. (25 points)
Oops, We Shrunk Your Kids
This is the night we will feel like we were shrunk. We will play games with oversized toys, like dodge ball with
large beach balls and run relays with large toy noodles.
Valentine’s Dessert Contest
We will have a dessert contest. So, help your child make a special dessert. Awards will be given for the
largest, smallest, patriotic, spiritual, colorful, unique, original and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Then, at the
end of the evening we will taste them. (50 points for entering a dessert) Yum, yum…….
Awana’s Got Talent
Do you play the piano, violin or another instrument? Do you love to sing? Come with your talent to Awana. A
few will be selected to show their talent for church on March 11for Awana Sunday!(25 points)
Awana Sunday
Wear your Awana uniform to church. Bring your family. Some of the Awana’s Got Talent participants will be
showing the talents that the Lord has given them. We will also be showing a video of what we do in Awana.
You don’t want to miss this Sunday! (25 points to all clubbers who come)
International Night
You can wear international clothing or bring in something from a different country. (25 points)
Crazy Sock Night
Wear bright, mismatched colorful socks. (25 points)
Double Point Night
All points accumulated tonight will be doubled!!!!
Dress Like the Commander Night
25 points to anyone that dresses like Dr. Mike.
Christian Tshirt Night
Wear a Christian tshirt or make your own. God’s message is always in style. (25 points)
Outdoor Night
We will have Awana outdoors tonight (weather permitting).
Wet & Wild Night
This is sure to be one of our favorite nights. We bring our super soakers and play outside. Bring the following:
Sparks and Truth & Training kids bring your:
1) Super soaker (25 points if you bring one), towel & raincoat (optional)
2) Dry clothes, socks, shoes
3) Bag to put your wet clothes in
Please dress accordingly. Only if the weather is severe will we cancel this event. If you choose not to
participate, there will be an inside activity.
Cubbies are to bring small squirt guns and they will play on the east side of the building. They are instructed to
squirt the van, trees, small targets, etc. Send towels and clothes just in case they get a little wet.
